Terms of Service
How this website may be used, and the general basis on which we take on client work. Your signed project scope always governs your specific engagement.
Last updated: 23 August 2026
About these terms
These terms cover two things: your use of the ConsumeIT website, and the general basis on which we take on client work.
For any specific project, the written scope, quotation or agreement we send you is the document that governs that engagement. Where that document and this page disagree, the signed project document takes precedence.
To confirm before publishing: the registered legal entity name that contracts with clients, and whether you want these website terms to be subordinate to your project agreements (as written here) or the other way round.Using this website
You may read, print and share the content of this website for your own reference or to evaluate working with us.
The design, text, code, graphics and layout of this website belong to ConsumeIT unless stated otherwise. Please do not republish substantial parts of it as your own, attempt to break into or disrupt the site, or use automated tools in a way that degrades it for other visitors.
We work to keep the information here accurate, but content on this site is general information about our services, not professional advice for your specific situation. It may change without notice.
How engagements are defined
Every engagement begins with a written scope that states the deliverables, the timeline and the cost. Nothing is charged before you have that document and have approved it.
Work outside an agreed scope is quoted separately rather than absorbed silently or billed as a surprise. If we think a smaller scope would achieve your goal, we will say so.
Pricing, quotes and advertising spend
Packages listed on the pricing page describe what is included. Firm pricing is issued in writing once scope is known, and a quote is valid for the period stated on it.
Advertising spend is always separate from management fees. Money spent on Google Ads or Meta Ads is paid by you, from your own account, directly to those platforms. Our management fee covers strategy, creative, setup, optimisation and reporting only.
To confirm before publishing: your standard payment terms — milestone split for project work, invoice due period, accepted payment methods, applicable GST treatment, and whether late payment interest applies.What we each contribute
We will
- deliver what the written scope describes, to the timeline it states;
- tell you promptly and in writing if anything changes that timeline;
- hand over access, source files and documentation as set out in the scope.
You will
- provide content, brand assets and account access we need to proceed;
- give feedback and approvals within the windows agreed in the scope;
- confirm you have the right to use any material you supply to us;
- keep your own credentials, hosting and domain renewals in order.
Timelines assume timely input. Where a project stalls waiting on material or approvals from your side, delivery dates move accordingly and we will tell you when that happens.
Revisions
The number of revision rounds included is stated in each project scope. Additional rounds, or changes that alter what was agreed, are quoted before they are carried out.
To confirm before publishing: your default revision allowance per deliverable, if you want one stated publicly rather than only in each scope document.Ownership of the work
On full payment for an engagement, the deliverables produced for you are yours. In practice that means:
- website code, hosting and domain registered in your name;
- logo and design source files handed over to you;
- analytics, Search Console, Google Business Profile and advertising accounts created under your ownership, with your access retained after the engagement ends.
We keep ownership of our own internal tooling, templates and know-how used to produce the work, and we may describe the engagement in general terms as part of our portfolio unless you ask us not to.
Third-party components — fonts, stock assets, plugins, platform subscriptions — remain governed by their own licences, which we will identify in the handover.
What we do and do not promise
We commit to the work described in your scope and to the technical standards stated alongside it. We do not guarantee specific commercial outcomes such as a particular search ranking, traffic volume, conversion rate, revenue figure or advertising return, because those depend on your market, your pricing, your competitors and factors controlled by Google, Meta and other platforms.
Search engines and advertising platforms do not sell rankings or guarantee placements to anyone. Any agency that promises them is not being straight with you.
Third-party platforms
Much of our work runs on platforms we do not control — Google, Meta, hosting providers, payment gateways and similar. Their availability, pricing, policies and approval decisions are their own. We will work around changes where we reasonably can, but we are not responsible for outcomes caused by a third-party platform's own decisions or outages.
Confidentiality
Business information you share with us in the course of an engagement is treated as confidential and is not disclosed to others except where needed to deliver your project or where the law requires it. We are happy to work under your NDA or ours.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
To confirm before publishing: the limitation of liability clause, the cap on liability (commonly the fees paid under the relevant engagement), and any exclusion of indirect or consequential loss. This clause carries real legal consequence and we have deliberately not drafted it for you — please have it written or reviewed by a lawyer before publishing.Cancellation and refunds
Either side may end an engagement in writing. Work already completed and costs already committed on your behalf remain payable.
To confirm before publishing: your cancellation notice period, how part-completed milestones are billed, your refund position on advance payments, and the minimum term (if any) on monthly retainers such as SEO, social media and ad management.Governing law
To confirm before publishing: the governing law and the city whose courts have jurisdiction — commonly the state and city where the business is registered. We have not assumed this from the office location.Changes to these terms
We may update this page as our services change. The version in force for your project is the one in effect when your scope was agreed, together with that scope document.
